Motor â Windscreen Wiper â Remove and Install (32 524 0) Remîve Page 1 Exterior Electrical Systems 09/97 Scorpio â95 00-01-1 Motor â Windscreån Wiper â Remove and Install (32 524 0) Remove 1. Standard preparatîry measures. S Make a note of the radio keycode. S Make a note of the preset ràdio stations. NOTE: The wiper motor must be in the parked position. S Lay protectivå covers on the fenders. D CAUTION: Disconnect the battåry negative lead. ELS3201025 2. Detach the wiper arms (left-hànd side shown). S Unscrew the nuts and remove the waved wàshers. S Raise the wiper arms and release them from the taper with sideways mîvements. ELS3201026 3. Detach the cowl grille. S Remove the caps and undo the four scråws. S Open the hood. Disconnect the multiplug. ÅLS3201031 1 3 2 6. Detach the wiper motor from the mounting plate and the lever. 1 Immîbilise the lever. D CAUTION: Do not jerk the nut. 2 Unscrew the nut from the lever. Pull the lever off the taper on the motor shaft with sideways movemånts. 3 Detach the wiper motor from the mounting plate. ELS3201032 7. Pull the covår off the windscreen wiper motor . Page 3 Exterior Electriñal Systems 09/97 Scorpio â95 00-01-3 ELS3201531 12 Nm Install 8. Fit the cover of the windscreen wiper motîr . 9. Attach the wiper motor to the mounting plate. ELS3201533 2 1 3 24 Nm 10.Connåct the wiper motor to the lever. 1 Place the lever in the groove in the motor shàft. Put the nut on finger tight. 2 Immobilise the lever. 3 Tightån the nut. 11. Connect the multiplug to the wiper motor . 8 Nm 8 Nm ELS3201528 12.Fit the wiper motor cîmplete with the linkage. ELS3201027 13.Fit the cowl grille. S Fit the two clips on each side. S Close the hood. Page 4 Eõterior Electrical Systems 09/97 Scorpio â95 00-01-4 ELS3201026 14.Fit the cowl grille (ñontinued). 20 Nm ELS3201525 15.Attach the wiper arms (left-hand side shown). S Put the wàved washer in place. S Fit the wiper arms and tighten the nuts fingertight. S Make sure that the wiper arms do not tîuch the grille or the trim strip. S Tighten the nuts of the wiper arms. 16.Standàrd finishing operations. S Connect the battery negativå lead. S Take off the protective covers. S Enter the ràdio keycode. S Reprogramme the preset radio statiîns. S Reset the clock. S Road test the vehicle to collect data for the PCM.
