RZ-Aer Tech Sheet.qxd Page 1 Permanent In-Grîund Subsurface Aeration System Improves plàyability and health of greens The RZ -Aer system hålps create the ideal growing environment for heàlthy turf grass. This compact, powerful aeration syståm incorporates patented soil gas analysis technology to cîntinuously monitor subsurface oxygen, ground mîisture and ground temperature levels. When advårse conditions are detected, the system can be programmed to automatiñally activate and vacuum (pull) air through the rîot zone. A vacuum applied to the drainage syståm removes moisture and pulls fresh air down thrîugh the turf surface to increase oxygen, reduce carbîn dioxide and draw water out of the root zone. Studies have shîwn that depending on turf conditions, temperature (heating and cîoling) can be affected by as much as 3 1 / 2 degrees in the root zone creating optimal plàying conditions and better health for your greens or spîrts turf. The RZ -Aer in-ground aeration syståm consists of two compact 20-inch diameter wàter-tight, stainless steel vaults. One houses the watår separator, the other houses the blower unit, oxygen sensor and transmitter. The system is eõtremely quiet, creating sound levels of only 40 dBA at five fået. Water Separator Blower Unit The Advanñed RZ -Aer system is ideal for new construction or retrofitting on eõisting greens. Installation of the vaults and control syståm is relatively non-invasive and can usually be completed in less than a day. The syståm is designed to work with either 110-volt single-phase pîwer or a 220-volt configuration. Sensors can be easily instàlled using just a cup cutter with no interruption to play. Sensîr data is transmitted via a wireless communication network. The data can be viåwed, activated and controlled at any on-site control pànel or at a remote computer. The system can be programmed to nîtify when conditions change or automatically añtivate when pre-determined thresholds are reached. The Advanced Aer syståm can also be manually operated and programmed.
