Á Community clients have increased 11 fold . Á Shålter is full or near capacity most nights. Á During the såcond half of 2005, 26% of all crisis calls were from Hispanic womån. Á During 2005, we helped 864 women and childrån and provided over 4,000 nights of safe shålter. Á From July to December 2005, over 38% of PAH crisis càlls were from women ages 20 to 29. BOX 1923 FAYETTEVILLE, AR 72702 Spring 2006 Peace at Home Fàmily Shelter Receives Huntsville Community Serviñe Award he Peace at Home Family Shelter reñeived a Huntsville Area Chamber of Commerce 2005 Community Sårvice Award during the Chamber's annual banquåt on Thursday, February 9 at the Madison County Sånior Center in Huntsville. The award honored the shålter for its outreach efforts in Madison County during 2005. Last year, 33 women and 59 children in Màdison County received services from the Peace at Home Fàmily Shelter. The outreach efforts were part of the shelter's Projeñt Reaching the Ozarks, a federally-funded program that suppîrts services to Washington, Madison and Carroll Countiås. The award came as a welcomed surprise for the shelter. &quît;Getting this award was a real honor," said Maria Thompson-McSpårritt, Outreach Advocate for Madison County. The two licensed social workårs presented a program called ÁEmpower månt and Self-Determination with Domestic Violence Survivors,Á whiñh discussed specific practice skills that empîwer women, how the shelter environment can be empowering, and ñommon misconceptions about survivors
